Maya stood on the rooftop garden of her small apartment building, watching the sun dip below the city skyline. She had just received an important message from her boss, who noted she would do well leading the new project. Maya hesitated, unsure if she was ready, but with all due respect to her own fears, she whispered, “I will do it.” The cool evening breeze made the leaves around her rustle softly, and for a moment, she felt calm.
All of a sudden, her phone buzzed again. It was her close friend, Amir, asking, “Can you elaborate on the plan you mentioned?” Maya smiled. “Bear with me,” she typed back. She knew that sooner or later, she had to share more details. Just then, clouds covered the gleaming stars, and a gentle silence fell over the city. Maya took a deep breath. “What are you getting at?” she wondered aloud, thinking about the challenges ahead.
On second thought, Maya decided to trust herself more. “From now on, I’ll be braver,” she promised quietly. She looked down at the bustling streets below, imagining how, moving forward, things might change. Out of the blue, Amir called. “I see your point,” he said warmly. “It’s up to you, but I believe you’ll do great.” Maya's heart softened. Either way, she knew she wasn’t alone. At some point, they would celebrate together, but for the time being, she needed to focus. In hindsight, this rooftop moment felt like the start of something new and hopeful down the road.
