This week has been busy, both at work and at home.
On Monday, our intern started her first day and got a quick introduction from our manager.
She’ll help take minutes for meetings and assist with office software, so I’m excited to have her on our team.
There was a problem with the elevator in the building, which meant our client had to wait downstairs for a while, but we managed to bring her up to the conference room before our appointment deadline.
The meeting went well, and our colleague Peter even mentioned the possibility of a bonus if we finish the project on time.
As a result, everyone has been working overtime, but I’m keeping the agenda clear and hoping for a raise at the end of the quarter.
On the home side of things, my landlord called about renewing our contract for another year.
He agreed to fix the broken window in the living room, which is a relief.
I also had to file a reimbursement for my new home office chair, since sitting all day was starting to hurt my back.
I’m grateful for the insurance coverage through work—without it, new furniture would be too expensive.
By the way, have you tried that coffee place in my neighborhood?
They’re selling tulip-shaped cakes now, and it’s become my new favorite treat.
One more random thing: don’t forget your sunscreen if you’re out this weekend.
I spent an hour at the park and looked a bit red as a result.
