Many visitors at the city’s main art gallery were surprised this weekend by a new, casual art show. The artist, Sara Lin, used everyday shirts and scarves to make colorful shapes. One piece even showed a large nose made from a red scarf and a blue shirt, hanging from the roof of the gallery. Many people stopped to take photos of the unusual artwork.
Sara Lin says she wants to make art feel friendly. "People can wear a scarf or a shirt every day," she explained. "But they don’t always see them as art." The gallery’s manager was happy to see more visitors, especially families and young people. Some children asked if they could touch the big nose on the roof, but the staff said no, to protect the artwork.
The show is open for two weeks. Gallery workers hope more people will come and enjoy the casual and funny art. Tickets are free, and the gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
