Many parents ask me, “How can I help my child share with others?”
This is a common problem.
Maybe your child brings a new ball or a favorite game to the table, but does not want to let another child play.
Sometimes, when a baby or a cat is nearby, your child is even more careful with their things.
Sharing can be hard, especially when children love their toys or games.
Here is one idea: make sharing part of the game.
Put the ball, pen, and a small bag on a chair, and let each child take turns picking one.
You can also play with sand outside, perhaps near the door, and ask each child to help fill the bag or build something together.
When children work together, they often forget about fighting over toys.
You can even show how birds sometimes share food or space, so children see sharing can be fun and kind.
Remember, learning to share takes time.
With your help and a little practice, your child will become better at playing and sharing with others.
