Many people tell me they want to eat better, but it is hard when they have little time or energy after work. If you get home late or feel tired, it can be easy to just send for food or eat snacks. But cooking does not always need to take much time or skill. You can choose simple things to cook. For example, put some food on a tray, add a little oil, and place it in the oven. Maybe you want to try fire-cooked eggs or quick noodles. Even the busiest person can do small steps to eat better at home.

If you lead a busy life, plan your food for the week. You can cook extra one night and keep some for later. Use the rail or bus ride home to think about easy meals, so you do not feel lost when you arrive. Remember, you do not need to be a great cook—just start with little steps. It is fine to make mistakes. Every meal you make is better for you than food you send for. Give yourself time and be kind to yourself. Soon, cooking will feel easier and more fun.
